The WVBBTS Freestyle training
program offers young skiers many opportunities to train and
compete in all disciplines of freestyle skiing. The
coaching program focuses on developing strong skiers
and skilled competitors in mogul skiing, aerials,
big air, half-pipe, and slope-style. The Waterville
Valley Freestyle team competes on all levels of USSA
and FIS, from junior divisional through FIS NorAm.
The program is nationally recognized as one of the
finest in the country. In 1999 and in 2004, the WVBBTS Ski Club was awarded USSA Freestyle Program
of the Year. Nick Preston, the WVBBTS
Freestyle Program Director, was awarded the USSA
Russell Wilder Award. This award is given
annually by USSA to recognize the most outstanding
effort in focusing the interests of American youth
on the sports of skiing or snowboarding.
