WVBBTS / SEF Dry Slope Project Approved by Town of WV
Jun 9, 2011  |  Posted by: Jeremy Gasowski

This morning, Town of Waterville Valley Planning Board members, a representative of Horizons Engineering and several BBTS/WVA staff members started the day bright and early at a site walk-through of the Snow’s Mountain property.  After a brisk rain the black flies were out in force but didn’t deter this intrepid crew.

The meeting then adjourned to the Town Offices where initial comments by the Planning Board were addressed, a Public Hearing was called and eventually a vote was taken on the Dry Slope project.  Peter did a fabulous job presenting the project, fielding questions and stressing the multiple benefits the Dry Slope will provide.  The vote was overwhelmingly supportive.  Approval is contingent upon a few minor additions to the site plan that will be done by week’s end.

Several townspeople spoke up eloquently in favor of the project including abutters Tom Gross representing the White Mountain Athletic Club Tennis Courts, Bill Cantlin representing Waterville Company, and Marty O’Riordan.  Freestyle Program Director Nick Preston lent his extensive expertise to the discussions as well.  WVBBTS / SEF gratefully acknowledges all those who helped with, supported and spoke in favor of this very exciting project.

So, what’s next?  Moving the idea to reality!  Stay tuned for more specifics as they develop.
