Attitash, NH -- Waterville Valley Academy alpine skiers, Annie D'Elia and Michael Bancroft, finished a top the field at two Super G races at Attitash Mountain. The J1/2 women placed 5 in the top 10 in both races.

In the first Super G, for the women, D'Elia won with a time of 1:08.07, just 8 tenths in front of her teammate Carley Antonioli who finish 2nd. Katie Benjamin placed 5th, Lindsay Todaro 9th, Caroline Winslow 10th, Payton Spencer 15th and Teagan Mosenthal 22nd.  For the men, Bancroft won by the slimmest of margins, just 8 one-hundredths of a second. Teammates Spencer Kofed placed 14th, Dakota Thompson 19th, and Darnell Holmes 23rd.

The afternoon brought the second Super G of the day. Annie D'Elia kept to her winning ways with a two second margin victory over excellent skiing by 2nd place finisher and teammate Caroline Winslow. The WVA women continued their fantastic day with Carley Antonioli in 6th, Lindsay Todaro in 8th, Katie Benjamin in 9th, Payton Spencer in 16th and Teagan Mosenthal in 18th. For the men, Michael Bancroft skied his way to 3rd place, just half a second off the lead. Spencer Kofed placed 13th, Dakota Thompson 14th, and Darnell Holmes finish in 16th.

"It was a great day of Super G for the girls. They challenged themselves, surprised themselves and brought the intensity. It was great to see their hard work pay off and land them on the podium or in the top 10," said Women's coach Steph Darling.
