Jan 7, 2011 | Posted by: Jeremy Gasowski
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WATERVILLE VALLEY, NH- Young girls had the chance to ski with 2010 Olympic Gold Medalist, Hannah Kearney, as she returned to Waterville Valley Resort, the mountain where her athletic career began.
On Wednesday, Decmeber 29th, Kearney spent the morning skiing with local girls to help raise interest in the sport of womens mogul skiing. Excitement was overflowing as the girls had the chance to ski along side Kearney, while she gave tips on skiing the moguls and signed autographs on skis, helmets, goggle straps and anything with a writable surface. Never short of smiles with every flash bulb, Kearney took photos with every single girl that participated before heading on her way.
At age two, Kearney began skiing moguls as a member of the Waterville Valley Black & Blue Trail Smashers Snow Sports Club, also known as WVBBTS. She made her World Cup debut in 2003 and since then has landed on the podium 39 times highlighted by winning Gold at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. WVBBTS would like to thank Hannah for her visit and dedication to the young athletes. Good luck in your upcoming World Cup season!
