Waterville Valley Black and Blue Trail Smashers/ Snowsports Educational Foundation (WVBBTS / SEF), home of the Waterville Valley Academy, is pleased to welcome back Tim McLaughlin as Snowboard Program Director. Tim previously served as the Program Director for two years from 2014-2016. Prior to that, Tim was a WVBBTS/SEF snowboard coach for five years. Tim returns to WVBBTS/SEF after a one year as a snowboard coach at Proctor Academy.
A 2009 graduate of Plymouth State University, Tim brings solid coaching and administrative skills to our snowboard program. Tim has coached athletes in USASA, Rev Tour and US Open competitions along with a US Snowboard Team Project Gold Camp. Tim will work towards increasing WVBBTS-SEF snowboard enrollments and year-round camp training at Phil’s Hill Training Center.
According to Gary Benedix, WVBBTS/SEF Interim Executive Director, “I am excited to have the opportunity to work with Tim. His professionalism and dedication to his athletes and the program is of the highest regard. He is a creative and hard-working coach who I know will bring out the best in our snowboard athletes.”
Diane Saunders, parent to three WVBBTS snowboarders and Executive Committee member of the WVBBTS Board of Trustees says of Tim, “Tim has a wealth of knowledge about snowboarding and great relationships with our current snowboard athletes and families, as well as with the other WVBBTS/SEF coaching staff. He’s a fabulous coach and person. We are very happy to welcome Tim back to the club.”
