FAQs about WVBBTS!
Q: What is the difference between the High School Program and weekend U16 or U19s?
A: The High School program is for alpine racers 9th grade and up, and is designed for those who may not be able to commit to an entire season but, still want to compete and improve their skiing. Many racers in this program are top tier racers for their high schools back home. The program is a half the amount of days for half the price of the full time weekend program. Competing in several USSA races during the year is highly encouraged, including the Clay Soper Memorial held at Waterville.
The U16 and U19 weekend programs on the other hand is a full winter commitment, with a full slate of races and training. Top U16 athletes aspire to compete in the Eastern U16 Finals, the U16 Eastern Championships and ultimately the U16 Nationals. U19s will also compete through out the season, primarily in USSA races, but also in FIS races.

Q: We are a new family to WVBBTS, now what?
A: WELCOME to the family, we are excited to have you! First, please do not hesitate to reach out and ask questions to coaches or administration, we are here to help. For new families we have created an online resource to help answer questions, the link can be found here
On that site you will also find a form to fill out an application for a “New Member Ambassador”, which will match you up with a veteran family to help you navigate the waters! Lastly, we highly encourage that you attend our early season meet and greets, stay tuned for details!

Q: Why do I need to by a US Ski & Snowboard license if my child does not compete in US Ski & Snowboard competitions?
A: All members of WVBBTS are required to have a USSA license in order to be covered under Club Liability Insurance. For those athletes who do not compete or only compete in USASA events, we suggest purchasing the $20 general membership from USSA

Q: What does my child need for equipment?
A: The best way to learn what your child will need for equipment this season is to attend one of our “FIT Days” on September 1st or October 13th. Coaches will be in attendance to give you advice on what you need and what sizes to purchase.
