Boardercross/Skiercross Camp

Get ready for an awesome opportunity to sharpen your boarder/skier cross skills with former Olympian Peter Thorndike and the WVBBTS coaching staff. This camp is for all boarder/skier cross athletes of any level. With the first USASA NH Series-sanctioned race being held the following weekend, this camp will be a great head start on the 2018 boarder/skier cross season. On Saturday morning, Peter Thorndike will be going over racing strategies, techniques, rules and regulations of skier/boarder cross events in a classroom setting. This is a great opportunity for athletes to ask the pros any questions they may have about the sport of boarder/skier cross racing. Following the classroom instruction, athletes will head on to the hill to learn the proper way to roll through and inspect a course. After inspection, athletes will ride and get a feel for the course while getting top notch coaching from BBTS/SEF’s coaching staff. On Sunday, skiers and riders will get right to training on hill, ride the course, and prepare for the afternoon mock boarder/skier cross race. Athletes will get the chance to see how a boarder/skier cross race is bracketed through time trials; their results from time trials will determine the heats for the mock race, and allow riders to experience how a race runs from start to finish in a fun and safe environment. After the mock race, awards will be handed out. This will not be a camp you are going to want to miss out on!
