Hintertux, Austria Camp FAQ’s

Hintetux Skier

Below is some information to help you to prepare for our training camp in Hintertux, Austria.

You are allowed to bring one luggage bag and a ski bag. Included with the ski bag can be a boot bag, but this boot bag can only take boots and a helmet. The luggage bag and ski bag cannot exceed 50 pounds each. Your carry-on bag must be no more than 45 total inches (18 pounds). This means the combined height, length, and width. In other words, a small to medium sized backpack. If you do not have name tags for the bags you can get them at the airport.

This is definitely a tough trip to pack for. We will experience all four seasons in the 2 weeks. We might ski in the rain, snow, or sun and this is all in the same day. We have to be prepared.

We are staying with the Dengg family at the Alpenhof Hotel. It is a 4 Star Plus hotel and they care for us very well. We have an excellent reputation with the Denggs and we will continue to treat their hotel with the utmost respect. The Alpenhof telephone number is 011 43 5287 8530, the fax is 011 43 5287 8550. Remember Austria is 6 hours ahead of us. A good time to phone is at 12:30 PM US time which is supper time in Austria.

Please make sure your PASSPORT is valid and remember to bring it along with another photo ID.  If you have any special medication bring it along with any information the coaches may need. If you have not given us a copy of your health insurance then have a copy with you.

The price of the camp includes everything except lunches. We buy these at the corner store or at the mountain restaurant. If you are not sure the amount of spending money to bring, we recommend a minimum of $500.

Due to security it is wise to be at the airport at least 3 hours before our flight.

If you have any questions please phone Coach Phil at 201-788-2814, Coach Tom at 603-728-5182, Coach Pete at 603-728-8043 or Coach Matt at 603-303-4631.
