2020/2021 Freestyle “A” program Fees – Early Bird $2,628 – Regular Rate $3,154
This is for athletes ages 15+ who are interested in Moguls, Aerials or Freeskiing. At this point, athletes may have a preference for a particular event and can begin to specialize.
The WVBBTS Freestyle Mogul Program is designed for skiers who want to master the sport of mogul skiing. Skiers compete in the Eastern Championship Series (A’s) and have the opportunity to qualify for Junior Nationals, U.S. Championships, the FIS Nor-Am tour, and Junior World Championships. Waterville Valley has a long history of freestyle skiing and is the host of the 2018 and 2019 US National Mogul Championships. WVBBTS has placed many athletes on the U.S. Ski Team including Olympic gold medalist Hannah Kearney. Come train on the best mogul courses, and work with the best coaches.
Freestyle skiing includes aerials competition and consists of a skier performing flips and spins while jumping. Aerials is a Freestyle discipline recognized by US Ski & Snowboard. Some aerials athletes on the US Ski Team that have trained with WVBBTS include, Eric Loughran and Ashley Caldwell. Freeskiing consists of slopestyle, big air, and pipe competitions. Slopestyle focuses on park skiing, hitting jumps, going off rails, etc. Athletes will compete in USASA rail jams and big air competitions throughout the year. Additionally, “A” level athletes can qualify for FIS and Nor-Am level competitions. At the “A” level athletes interested in Slopestyle should consider Waterville Valley Academy.
Rob Dresser // Head Moguls Coach
Rob Dresser is the head Moguls Freestyle “A” skiing coach at WVA & BBTS. Rob is an alumnus of WVA and BBTS. Rob began his coaching career at Whaleback in 2009. He came back to Waterville Valley in 2011. Before becoming the head Moguls coach in 2020, he also gained coaching experience at Proctor, Abenaki & Holderness. Rob is a level 200 air & Moguls coach. In the summers Rob is a competitive sailor and has also spent time coaching the Princeton sailing club.
