Snowboarding at WVA
The National Travel Team is an elite crew that travels throughout the United States competing in the Rev Tour, Grand Prix and US Open-type events. When back at home in Waterville, the team trains in the nationally recognized Exhibition Terrain Park, which is serviced by its own Poma Lift.
The combination of top level training venues and outstanding coaching has produced athletes such as Pat Moore, Chas Guldemond, Danny Garrity, Greg Maxwell, James Brumfield, Tanner Pendelton, Tim Humphreys, Sam Huilbert, Brendan Reis, Ian Thorley, and Nick Juilis.
This amazing list of alumni has won numerous Grand Prix Slopestyles, US Open Slopestyles, TTR World Titles, and filmed with some of the best snowboard production companies in the world.
Snowboard Program Director
Bill has been involved in snowboarding since the early days of the sport. He competed in the pre-Olympic era of snowboard racing in the late 1980s, captured ISF and FIS World Cup wins and was a member of the first-ever U.S. Snowboard Team from 1994-1999. After retiring from competition, he headed back to New Hampshire to start the BBTS snowboarding program and become the Snowboard Program Director at WVA . He left BBTS/WVA to join the US Team as the head slopestyle coach. In 2014, he coached Sage Kotsenburg and Jamie Anderson to Olympic Gold at the games in Sochi, Russia. He retired from the US Team in 2015 and re-joined BBTS/WVA for the 2015/16 season.
